‘Human Intelligence + AI: Building an Inclusive Future for Every Learner
In recent months, GenAI’s capability to create lesson plans has evolved from a revolutionary novelty to a common functionality. Numerous tools and services have emerged, offering various ways to reduce teacher workload by generating educational materials. However, the initial fascination with these tools is waning, and the focus has shifted towards aligning GenAI tools with individual teacher identities, curriculum content, and underlying evidence. In this workshop, we introduce our innovative solution: LessonInspector.ai. Designed to promote critical reflection on GenAI-produced lesson plans, LessonInspector leverages themes from the Core Content Framework and the Teachers’ Standards to analyse uploaded lesson plans—whether human- or GenAI-produced. It provides both qualitative and quantitative analyses with handy visuals, facilitating a critical evaluation of the lesson plan’s quality. Recognising that measures of quality are context-dependent, we showcase the use of different inspector ‘personas’ to highlight the diversity of evaluations possible. Rather than serving as an objective measure of worth, LessonInspector is intended as a scaffold for reflective prompts, encouraging teachers to consider and reflect on the analysis provided.
