Greater visibility with the new classroom.cloud status page

A new classroom.cloud status page is now available, giving customers a quick way to check the current status of the service and see whether any known issues are affecting availability.

The page can be accessed at: https://classroom.cloud/status

This provides customers with a single place to check service information whenever they need it.

More control over power management

Power management settings have been updated to give schools more flexibility when creating power schedules. Device groups can now be excluded from power schedules, helping IT teams tailor power management around different groups of devices. Please note that this exclusion does not apply to Power On actions.

The Teacher and Technician Console settings have also been updated, with new options allowing administrators to control whether teachers and technicians can power devices on or off. This gives schools greater control over which users can perform these actions.

More context for safeguarding teams

Teacher-to-student chats are now audited and can be viewed in the new Teacher Console Audit Log. This gives schools greater visibility of classroom interactions and provides an additional record to support safeguarding oversight.

For organisations using tenant monitoring, the phrase review dialog for Microsoft Copilot chats has also been updated. Safeguarding teams can now view the message log associated with a flagged chat, providing additional context when reviewing activity. This feature requires each monitored user to have an assigned Microsoft Copilot licence.

The Power BI connector has also been updated so schools can query phrase review history, giving safeguarding teams further options for analysing and reporting on review activity.

Safeguarding resources can now be tailored to reflect a school’s local setting by enabling and disabling them.

Overall, the safeguarding algorithm has been improved to increase performance and help reduce the volume of unnecessary information presented to Designated Safeguarding Leads, helping teams focus their attention more effectively.

Easier CPOMS searches

For schools using the CPOMS integration, the Send to CPOMS dialog has been updated so staff can search for students using either their first or last name.

This makes it quicker to locate the correct student when sending relevant safeguarding information to CPOMS.

Improved device and user management

At organisation level, the All Devices view now includes the option to filter devices by site. This will be particularly useful for schools, trusts and other organisations managing devices across multiple locations, where being able to narrow the device list to a particular site can make administration much quicker.

Support has also been added for Microsoft Entra user and device groups when creating Acceptable Use Policy rules, giving schools more flexibility when deciding which users or devices particular AUP requirements should apply to.

The classroom.cloud Windows Student is now available through the Microsoft Store, making deployment easier for organisations using Microsoft Intune. As well as simplifying deployment, this also provides support for automatic updates, helping IT teams keep classroom.cloud Student installations up to date with less manual administration.

These updates continue to build on classroom.cloud’s classroom management, safeguarding and IT management capabilities, giving teachers, technicians and safeguarding teams more control over how the platform works within their school.
