Vanessa is a leading authority on gender equality and one of the UK’s most well-connected women. She has delivered keynotes for over 600 companies, inspiring more than 50,000 women globally, and advises government bodies and corporations on attracting and retaining female talent. In 2018, she was awarded an OBE for her contributions to women and the economy, and in 2024, she received an honorary Doctorate from Warwick University.
Vanessa launched the award-winning WeAreTheCity to support women’s career development at the height of her 25-year career in banking (with a later expansion of WeAreTechWomen). Vanessa has also earned 26 industry accolades, authored a book, launched the first National Women in Tech week and founded several prestigious awards programmes.
