With a host of superb interviews completed both before and at Bett 2023, NetSupport Radio (powered by Anderton Tiger) had a fantastic experience as the official broadcaster of the event!
There were a couple of themes that shone through during the interviews and the topics of the moment were data and AI.
Data
Whether it’s to improve learning or school administration, data can provide many insights. Bett speaker, Kanak Gupta, Group Director of the Seth M.R. Jaipuria Group of Schools in India which is responsible for educating over 50,000 students from a diverse range of backgrounds, spoke to NetSupport Radio about his Bett speaker talk discussing how digitisation in schools can move education forward, especially if everyone from different countries shares their experiences.
To help schools manage their ever-increasing data loads, Alex Middleton from iplicit, a cloud accounting software solution, joined host Russell Prue to explain how the intuitive nature of the solution makes it easy for schools to use and the company’s experience of supporting large organisations means that MATs can be confident that their data is in safe hands!
Interpreting data is another important angle and is where Elastik Learning excels. Jeremy Waters from the company explained to NetSupport Radio that it works with schools to them interpret their data and spot gaps that may be impeding student progression on an individual, group or whole-school level.
Artificial Intelligence
Now that ChatGPT is here, artificial intelligence is in the spotlight. But lots of solutions use AI to help schools be more effective in all sorts of ways. Richard Purcell from Caption.Ed, an assistive technology company, talked to NetSupport Radio about how its AI-powered product provides students with captioning and note-taking support to allow them to work and access learning content independently.
In addition, CYPHER Learning uses an AI-driven platform and automation to drive teaching and learning change. Jonathan Durrant explained to Russell how the solution’s automation helps teachers to reduce their daily tasks, allowing them to build classes in advance and personalise them based on students’ performance.
Talking of ChatGPT, EdTech entrepreneur, Michael Olagunju, talked about his company, Exam Solutions, and how it is one of the first to harness its AI to predict students’ grades accurately and then recommend precise learning tasks to help them improve, based on their budget, their learning style and their interests.
