Although there is legislation in place to protect LGBTQ+ students, bullying still exists and is quite prevalent amongst LGBTQ+ students which begs the argument that there should be better practices in place to support them.

It all starts with properly educating pupils and using appropriate language to create a safe environment for students to express themselves. In addition, schools should ensure a safe online environment as well – a great way to do so is by using online safety software that can help monitor concerns, identify at risk students and spot online safety trends.
