With many schools around the globe looking for a path back to normality, it’s imperative that students are supported to bolster attainment during the transition.
Education Today [Australia] recently published an article by NetSupport’s CEO, Al Kingsley, “Moving away from the damaging Covid ‘catch-up’ narrative,” which highlights the importance of moving beyond the emphasis on ‘catch-up’ to encourage positive mental health in students.
Al mentions, “Whilst concerns about knowledge gaps are absolutely valid, many are concerned that the ‘catch-up’ narrative, which has pervaded recently, has only served to mount unnecessary pressure and stress on students, at a time when communities should be doing all they can to alleviate student mental health issues, not add to them.”
While edtech has played a vital role in continuing education during the pandemic, it can also be used to help confront its after-effects.
