First things first. My name is Chloe and I am currently working towards achieving the Level 3 Diploma in Social Media for Business at NetSupport.
When the time arrived for me to make a decision on whether I wanted to go to university after Sixth Form, I panicked. I knew that university wasn’t for me but I wasn’t sure what other options were available. It was only after I did more research that I decided an apprenticeship was the way to go and here I am, nearly a year into my apprenticeship at NetSupport, and enjoying every day.
My first week at NetSupport flew by. I walked through the doors on my first day feeling like a nervous wreck, but by 5pm on Friday I wondered what I’d been so nervous about. The first day was spent getting set up, meeting people and finding out what my role in the Marketing team would involve.
The rest of my week was spent doing lots of training and getting to know NetSupport as a company. It is crucial for my role in marketing that I know about and understand each of NetSupport’s products, so I had a week of training and product demonstrations to give me a basic understanding – a more in-depth level of knowledge would (and has) come with time. Each day I had two main sessions. One was spent in Tech Support learning about NetSupport’s product range and seeing the software in action, the other was spent visiting the different departments within the office to gain an understanding of what each team does.
This week of training proved to be incredibly helpful in the longer term as it meant I knew how things at NetSupport worked, so I could get stuck into my work and my role as a member of the team much quicker than I would’ve been able to otherwise.
As daunting as it may have seemed on that first day, my first week as an apprentice at NetSupport was a success and I was looking forward to seeing what happened next.
