Summary
In some cases you might be asked by Technical support staff to confirm whether the NetSupport Client is using GDI hooking or screen scraping to capture the screen information.
Details
In order to find out the current view mode of NetSupport Manager or NetSupport School/Inform please follow these steps:
- Download the file "NSMmode.exe" at the bottom of this page and copy it to the root directory on the c: drive of your Client machine.
- Start the NetSupport Control on another machine and open a view session to that Client.
- Run the file "NSMmode.exe" from the command line during the view session.
- If NSM is operating in GDI mode the expected result is "gdihook5 is LOADED"
- If NetSupport is operating in screen scrape mode the result will be "gdihook5 is NOT LOADED".
